The Artist's Way for the Midlife Woman

A 12-WEEK WORKSHOP FROM THE PAUSE
SEPTEMBER 8TH-NOVEMBER 25TH

MOST OF US DON'T NEED ANOTHER WRITING CLASS. WE NEED A PLACE WHERE OUR CREATIVITY IS WITNESSED, ENCOURAGED, AND ALLOWED TO BECOME JOYFUL AGAIN.

This 12-week journey is based on Julia Cameron's iconic book, The Artist's Way, but it's not a book club. It's a guided community experience for midlife women ready to reconnect with their creativity, their joy, and themselves.

You keep telling yourself you'll get back to your creativity... after the kids are older, after work settles down, after this season, after things get easier. But somewhere along the way, the creativity got quieter. The play disappeared. The joy got buried beneath responsibility. You aren't alone.

Using The Artist's Way as our guide, this 12-week journey includes weekly lessons and reflections, morning pages, Artist Dates, and live Zoom gatherings in a private online circle just for midlife women.

We'll meet on Zoom Wednesdays at noon ET, plus a rotating Friday session scheduled around the group's availability. If creativity has felt stagnant or buried, this workshop is built to help you get unstuck with gentle structure and the accountability of walking through it alongside women who understand this season of life.

Julia Cameron's classic has a long history of re-sparking creativity in its readers. Morning pages, Artist Dates, and noticing synchronicity are hallmarks of her work, and we'll bring all three into our weekly meetings and discussions.

This workshop welcomes writers of every level, and women of every belief system, or none at all.

The Artist's Way is sometimes associated with spirituality or a higher power, but you do not need to identify as spiritual to get everything out of this course. Our focus is on intuition, creativity, and honoring the emotional labor and quiet grief that so often comes with midlife caregiving and reinvention, and on helping your creative fire safely reignite.

Why I keep teaching this workshop:

I've walked through The Artist's Way more than once. Every time, it gives me something different.

It has helped me reconnect with my creativity after seasons of burnout, grief, motherhood, divorce, and reinvention. But here's what surprised me: the greatest gift wasn't the book. It was walking through it with other women. That's why I keep coming back, and why I keep inviting women to come with me.

There comes a moment in many women's lives when they realize they haven't actually lost their creativity. They've simply spent years putting everyone else first.

The writing can wait. The painting can wait. The singing can wait. The dream can wait. Until one day, you can no longer remember what it felt like to create for the sheer joy of it.

If that's where you are, I'd love to invite you home.
