Surf Your CreativityÂ
The 5-week Saboteurs & Superpowers SeriesÂ
With Ann Imig & Steph Sprenger
APRIL 6TH - MAY 8THIf we love to swim in creative waters, why do we find it so hard to get in, stay in, or God forbid enjoy ourselves when we do?Â
Â
Imagine if you could create a surfboard for your writing practice that you could rely on no matter how big the waves of busyness, disappointment, or insecurity.
Â
In this 5-week workshop, we will explore the 10 saboteurs that add stress to life’s challenges, limit our options, and negatively impact our relationships, performance, and wellbeing.
JOIN US →In this workshop, we will dip our toes into Positive Intelligence® concepts by learning to identify and begin disrupting the patterns we all have that keep us stuck.
Â
We all experience stress, frustration, or self-doubt in our writing and in life. These feelings aren't just random— they’re often triggered by patterns in our minds called saboteurs. They’re automatic habits we pick up early in life that quietly shape how we react to challenges, often without us realizing it.
Â
Together, we’ll learn tools to help us get out of our own way creatively—to more easily find that flow state we all crave—and strategies to help us go with the flow when things get challenging.Â
Â
[Bonus: you might find a bit more ease in your relationships and wellness, too!]Â
Â
When it comes to our writing, saboteurs can show up in a few common ways:Â
- Perfectionism
- Procrastination
- Comparison
- Fear of failure (or success!)
- Writer's Block
- Relentless ambition or overachieving
- Moving from project to project without following through
- Censoring yourself due to fear of criticism or judgment
"Our weekly meetings felt like a creative breakthrough combined with group therapy."
-2025 participant
This workshop will include:Â
Â
✓ Weekly Zoom sessions with Ann Imig, MSW and certified Positive Intelligence® coach
âś“ Guided meditations/visualizations
✓ The Positive Intelligence® saboteur assessment
âś“ A free individual 50-minute breakthrough session with Ann

"It is never too late or too egotistical or too selfish to do something for yourself."
-Julia Cameron, The Artist's Way
In our five weeks together, you’ll come to understand which saboteurs might impact you the most significantly, and how to begin accessing the superpowers and gifts that lie beneath them.
Â
You’ll learn:
- An overview of the concept of saboteurs and how they impact stress levels, wellbeing, relationships, and performance
- What your individual saboteurs are and how they get in the way of your creativity, writing practice, and goals
- An easy and quick practice to disrupt these patterns and reclaim a sense of ease and flow in your creative life
- How to work with your system to tap into your superpowers and allow your unique gifts to shine—in your writing and beyond
Here’s what each week looks like:Â
- Mondays at 1 pm EST: A Zoom meeting with Ann (live attendance optional) with a lesson overviewing the “saboteurs of the week." Video/audio replay will be available later that day.
- Wednesdays: a reading, exercise, and discussion topic related to the week’s theme will be posted in our online forum
- Fridays: a related writing prompt will be posted in the forum, as well as an optional community check-in on Zoom
