A 60-MINUTE INTERACTIVEÂ WORKSHOP WITHÂ GG RENEE HILL
Writing about Mental Illness
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17TH AT 1:30 ET
Whether you have experienced mental illness personally or have a loved one who has, writing about it can help you process the challenges while creating powerful narratives that reduce stigma and stereotypes. In the spirit of healing through storytelling, participants will explore how mental illness has directly or indirectly affected their lives, and learn creative ways to turn lived experience into compelling material for writing projects. For inspiration, we will read excerpts from different authors who have approached the topic in different ways.
What you'll leave with:
- Explore the benefits and challenges of writing about mental illness
- Use the eight storyteller types as a framework for generating ideas
- Learn best practices for writing about mental health with sensitivity
- Learn a powerful prewriting tool to uncover key details, emotions, and perspectives for your narrative

I want all the goods! The Pause:
A creative community for midlife women
The Pause is a creative community for midlife women who feel something shifting and want a place to reconnect with their creative spark. You might be rethinking your work, your relationships, your writing, or even who you are in this season. You might be in the process of outgrowing old systems that aren't working anymore, or shedding a skin. Â
Here, you will find women who are thoughtful, curious, and willing to connect on a deep level. Women who are building new things. Women who are letting go of old things. Women who are simply trying to listen to their own voices again and to figure out what stories they really want to tell. If you are craving connection, inspiration, and steady forward movement in a supportive community, you are welcome here.
